Centre’s Information

Our Centre is open for registration for children between the ages of 3 to 6 years:

• 3 Years   –   Playgroup
• 4 Years   –   Nursery
• 5 Years   –   Kindergarten 1
• 6 Years   –   Kindergarten 2

Our Objectives

Al-Iman Mosque Kindergarten realizes that the perpetuation of society depends on the progress of the individual. Therefore, continued progress and growth of the child is the aim of education at Al-Iman. This education should be:

• Intellectual in its direction
• Individualized in its approach
• Demanding in its efforts
• Character building in its nature
• Scientific in its method

Centre’s Programme

The programme is child centred and activity based in a language rich environment. The environment that we provide caters to the various areas of development including the specific physical, intellectual, emotional and social requirements of early childhood. The teacher plays the role of facilitator who modifies the programme to meet the needs of the individual child.

Curriculum

The curriculum is designed to:

• Provide opportunities that encourage physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth.
• Enhance fine motor and gross motor skills, whether outside on the playground or inside each classroom.
• Support the development of social skills such as sharing, cooperation, generosity and empathy.
• Foster positive self-esteem, a sense of self-worth and his/ her own unique gifts.

The curriculum focuses on six learning areas:

• Language and Literacy
• Aesthetics and Creative Exxpression
• Numeracy
• Motor Skills Development
• Discovery of the World
• Social and Emotional Development

​The curriculum also includes Islamic Learning and field trips.

OPERATIONAL HOURS (PRE NURSERY, NURSERY, KINDERGARTEN 1 & 2)

Session 1

Mondays to Thursdays – 8.00 am to 12.00 pm

Fridays  – 8.00 am to 10.00 am

Session 2

Mondays to Thursdays – 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm

Fridays – 10.00 am to 12.00 pm

Our Philosophy

At our Mosque Based Kindergartens, our children are empowered to learn through a pedagogical approach that we refer to as V.A.L.U.E.S – inVolving, Applying Learning, Understanding, Exploring, Spiritual. In providing for your child’s learning and development, this approach provides facilitated learning experiences that are conducted through play.
